20 Jan 2022Inter-Ministerial Prakas on the Operationalization of the Global Travel Assessment System (GTAS)
What is GTAS?
The Global Travel Assessment System (GTAS) is an open-source, customizable, and flexible system designed to provide governments with a platform to enhance their capabilities in risk assessment and management of travelers. It allows for the processing of Advance Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Records (PNR) data to identify high-risk travelers before they arrive at a border.
Cambodia Customs has adopted the GTAS with the support of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the assistance of the United States Customs and Border Protection (US-CBP). The system has been enhanced and customized to meet the national standards and requirements of Cambodia. This customization ensures that the system aligns with the specific needs and regulatory frameworks of Cambodia, enhancing its effectiveness in managing and securing the country's borders.
